I realize the HS-T is a sfp scope, but are they worth buying/using? I have a deal I can get a nib 6-24x50 for $425.

While not a Razor, is it a decent piece of glass for 500 yards and under? Thanks for the input guys.

Agree with B6. The HS-T is adequate only. I had one in the 4-16 power and sold it since for my purposes it was too much magnification on the low end for hunting up close. I expect you will find the same with 6x or worse. The reticle wasn’t numbered which made a quick shot difficult. It held zero and tracked, but there are better options available for similar funds.

I really like the 4-16 HS-T for what it is. A no nonsence reliable scope that tracks and it has an easy to use reticle. The 4-16 is a whole lot friendlier to get behind compared to the 6-24 which has a pretty horrible eyebox. As do all Viper series 6-24x scopes.

It will get the job done. But it wont be the nicest scope on the range, but sometimes that is a good thing. I have shot one competition with the HS-T 4-16x mounted to my 6,5x47L and I beat a lot of guys running Kahles k624i and similar scopes. That is always a nice feeling.

As long as you're okay with SFP, I would buy the HST at that price. It's a solid scope, with a zero stop (albeit not a hard stop), decent glass, tactile and audible turrets. It might not impress the cool kids at the range or on the internet and it's not the latest and greatest thing out there. But I really like mine (6-24).

Depends on the use. For hunting, I find the 6.5x on the Viper I have to be too much under about 250 yards. I'd rather something 4 to 5 power on the low end. For target use, it's fine.

I ran one on my 260 for a long time.
It never failed me.
It’s on one of my AR’s now.
It got me my first hits at and past 1000 yards and many more after that.
Glass was ok and totally usable.
