I am getting ready to buy a scope for my 280 hunting rifle. Looking at the 4-16 vortex crossfire. Looks like alot of features for the money. Dont start the bashing about money. I own good scopes but these are close to what I want to pay for this particulare set-up. Anyone have one? What do they sacrifice for the money? It is a 30mm tube, looks to have nice covered turrets and lifetime warranty.
What say you

If you don't already have rings I'd suggest the 1" tube crossfire for a little less over at SWFA.

I have one and I'm impressed with what you get for $100.

Con:
Turret screws can easily strip when resetting the turret zero if you're not careful, they're tiny. That's the only con.

Pros:
-Glass is excellent, probably best in price bracket. Clear at all levels, bright impressive for the price.

-Tracks very well.

-Appears to be built tough

-Inexpensive

-Vortex warranty, can't go wrong there.

With the current sale prices on some of the vortex vipers i'd look at them for a usable scope first. the crossfire line is a china made line. Its NOT the best in the world and I wouldn't count on it for a hunt of any sorts

Edit, left out NOT

I also have a 6-24X50 that I bought for a cheap .223 coyote rifle build. Its certainly not the best scope, but for the price you do get alot of features, but that doesnt mean they are quality features. I have not had any issues with mine, but I dont do much ditance/wind dialing with it either. At 24X it leaves alot to be desired.
But, for $100 its not a bad buy when you get a good warranty.
