Hey guys,

I am just wanting to get some input on these two rifle scopes, I have had a chance to shoot behind these two scopes, but would like to know from you about what you like or disliked about these two scopes, and if you would purchase one or the other. I am aware that differences of the weight, tube Diameter, illuminations. ect ect. But You tend to find what you dislike about things after a few outings. All of my scopes except one are Vortex optics, but I liked the HDMR more when I had a chance to use it. My intentions for it are to mount it on my 260 Remington and most likely use it on one other rifle when I get to that point. I have no limits on the distance I try to shoot out too, but I am more concern of glass clarity, the robust, turrets, thing you have noticed while using the optics that made you wince or smile. I appreciate the input!

I have experience using both scopes on precision rigs. I disagree that the PST is a POS, but if you have the $, go with the Bushnell (unless you need illumination). The Bushnell has better glass and will better suit your needs at long range. Another option to consider is the SWFA 5-20. I would go with either the Bushnell or the SWFA, depending on which I could get the best deal.

Owner of both. HDMR x 1,000. Better glass , built stronger , and (for me personally) the G2DMR is much better

I agree... I have owned 2 DMRs with the G2 and 1 HDMR Tremor2 and they all 3 have been flawless. I have tested the tracking on all 3 many times and found it to be dead on as is the reticle matches the adjustments perfectly. The glass is very good and they have a good eyebox. I have shot them from 90f to 10f and the turrets have always been very consistent, never sticky. I do love these scopes, especially considering the price! They are a hell of a value!

I have owned both and the Bushy gets my vote. While the PST is great optic, I feel the Bushy is leaps and bounds above the PST. And the G2 reticle is probably my favorite. Sold the Vortex months ago and kept the DMR.

Thanks guy, I felt the HDMR was better glass than the Vortex, I have no complaints but I don't like the Vortexs FFP scopes at all, I like the Second Focal Plane scopes. Im willing to invest, and have time to save since my current set up is working just fine, I just want to upgrade everything espically since I just got a job that more than capable of supporting my hobby. I also plan on using this scope between this rifle and a 7mm Mag I want to build. I just did not know if their was a gremlin hideing some where like they do after 100,000 miles on your vehicle.. I have a 260 Remington now, replaceing the stock with a chassis and want to upgrade the glass also from the viper I have on it now... Thanks guys, more input is welcomed..

I cant find a bushnell xrs 4.5-30x50 anywhere in person. Sold my razor 5-20x50 to get the gen 2 razor but its almost 1000 more then what I paid for the 5-20. Can get the xrs for just over 1500. How does the glass on the bushnell compare to other scopes in the same range? Ive had a pst ffp 6-24 as well. Sold that to get the razor which was alottt nicer scope

I got to look thru a Razor last august, I still favor the bushnell especially over the FFP Reticle, at full power I could only see 2 mills maybe on the reticle and at least the bushy you can see over four mills and its a thinner reticle..

I have the PST in 2.5-10X44 and it gets washed out when looking at the sun from 45 degrees to the left or right of the sun. Right now it just sits in the closet as I consider it a POS. I would only send it back to Vortex if they gave me my money back. I should have listened to what other people were saying about this scope but no I had to see for myself. Great customer service means nothing when you make junk.

I was a NightForce guy (7 of them) After reading the reviews on the Hide of the Bushnell Elite Tactical I thought I try one. The G2DMR FFP 3.5-21X50. It has great glass and tracking is spot on. No chromatic aberration that I can see. I now own 3 of them, Is it a Nightforce no but a great buy for the money. I like it much better than my lone Vortex a 4-16X50 FFP PST.

I might be worth looking at the 2014 scope shoot out test. The Bushnell is included as is the Razor 5-20 (I have both amount my collection).

While the Bushnell didn't score at the top against the 7k scopes it was the lowest cost in the test and the way I read it, gave the razor (not the new genII) more than a run.

I have owned 2 of the "old" Razors and really did like them. But I liked the DMR better, that is why I still have a HDMR & DMR but no Razor. But that is just my .02

I feel the Bushnell is nicer scopes. I still really like the Vortex PST a lot the Vortex HD are much better scopes they are on par with the Bushnell HDMR. Another scope to look at for the price is the Burris XTRII these scope are very nice for the price.
