I'm not trying to bash Vortex, i love my 1-4.. But, for the 2nd time after returning the first scope tiny particles are showing up inside the scope on the lense after the 1st time to the range that are cleary visible with the illumination on. Has anyone else had this problem??

I hope Vortex has identified and rectified this issue..I surely am not going to waste my time again returning this scope if this problem is going to persist.

You can try the old phonebook method. Hit it against something like a phonebook to try and dislodge the particles from the glass and get them to stick to the grease inside the scope. And this isn't a Vortex specific problem either, even Schmidt & Bender scopes have this happen to them from time to time.

We've had that problem on both of our 4-16PST, sent them back and they cleaned them up. Both still occasionally get them but now I just view that as something that isn't important, it still functions perfectly, tracks accurately and does the job at the matches. Kinda like a scratch on a new car or some rust on the outside of my match gun, doesn't hurt performance at all and until someone mentions it's there I don't even see it. Most important thing to me is performance, small things like those paint flecks rank right up there with a post a while back about a scratch on a shooters Night Force.
