Do the turrets on this vortex set to Zero?

How much elevation does this model have?

Has anyone used this model?

Id like to get it for a future 308 build, but I might get the crossfire 4-16 mil dot. But it will all fall on how much money I have at that time

Re: Vortex Questions

Did you read anything in that link to the viper you posted? Those little tabs you can click on that say 'specifications', 'overview', 'features' etc will answer almost all of those questions.

And to answer your other question, I've got a 6.5-20 with the dead hold BDC reticle and love it. I would say it's definitely worth the money.

Re: Vortex Questions

I have the 6.5-20x44 MilDot, it's a very nice scope for the price, the only thing for me is this reticle is a little thick, i should have gone with the wide duplex that would have been fine for my use.

Re: Vortex Questions

With a 20 moa base and 68 moa of adjustment, so about 31 per direction, how far could I reach out with that using a 308?

Re: Vortex Questions

I've had 4 scopes in the crossfire line and had the same problem with each one of them. The clarity of the glass was great for the money but I had problems with the target turrets moving a few clicks on each shot. As I said in another post the customer service was outstanding but I would advise staying away from any of the models in the crossfire line with the target turrets. Spend the extra money and get one in the Viper line. I ended up with a 6.5-20x44 Viper and am very pleased with it.

Re: Vortex Questions

the only thing I dont like about the viper is the lack of elevation compared to the crossfire.

I want to spend 300 dollars- needs mil dot, target turrets and have 100moa of elevation or be close. I hate being poor.

Though I could save more money. What should I save for?

Re: Vortex Questions

Well, Im going with the viper. 31 usable moa and a 20moa base and I should be able to reach out to about 1200 with the 308 hopefully.

Re: Vortex Questions

There is only 7 moa of travel difference between the Viper 6.5-20 and the 6-24 crossfire. With a 20moa base the Viper will get you out farther than a 308 will. All in all the Viper is a lot of scope for the money and will be a great scope for what you are looking to do. Feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions.
