I was recently prepping for my first PRS comp. As the title suggests, I have a Razor HD on my rifle. i have had this scope for ~2 years. I have noticed that my turret has a "wobble" in it as i turn it. this is not a new issue. What i mean by that is if i turn it perfect (no side forces), it turns just great. However, if, as you are pretty typically going to do, you turn it with any off axis force, the axis moves and i end up with binding. said another way, if you are behind the gun, and you push sidewas on the turret, the center of rotation moves off center. hopefully that makes sense. i see the same thing happening with the windage, but it isn't as bad and i don't tend to mess with windage much.

my question is, for those that have one, do you experience the same thing? does your turret "bend" or move off axis easily? does it bind? it definitely cost me some points during the match as i couldnt get it to easily dial from time to time. i might need 3.2 mil and it would stick at 3, then hop over to 3.4 and id have to fidget with it to get it to stop on the correct location.

i have a pst ii and its turrents do not exhibit this issue and my friends kahles had no similar issue. i know i can send it back, and now that the comp is over, probably will, but wanted to see if this was a known issue.

My Razor don't have this issue. Sound like it needs to get repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to embed a mp4 file, but it won't let me. so your turret is rock solid and doesn't have laterly motion as you turn it? I tried to show you what i meant here. 2 parallel lines represent top/bottom of turret. then you push laterally, and the center axis displaces and the top/bottom planes cant from horizontal. Hope this makes sense.

Did you zero your razor while the turret was unlocked? A few years ago I had a small amount "teetering" because I messed up. I zero'd it while the turret was unlocked. After zeroing I pushed the main turret down to lock it then tightened 3 set screws. When I did this the inner turret was in an elevated position. Then the turret cover wouldn't screw on fully (could still see the O-ring). This was my fault.

i'm not sure if you are saying i should or shouldn't, but i lift, zero with detent, then once i know how much, return to zero and adjust the center to finally zero while it is up. once tightened, i'll push it down. i too had the issue you mentioned about not being able to put the lid on, but vortex help told me to push down on middle while tightening...that fixed it. maybe i should push turret down AND push center down and then tighten...maybe that will get rid of wobble. i'll check it and let you know.

well, i am not 100% sure it is fixed, but....., i pushed the turret down, loosened set screws, turned zero, just to make sure it was settling as i pushed down on it, tightened set screws while pushing down on top, lifted turret and rotated....it seemed better, but stuck at 7, so pushed down on zero and repeated steps. it is definitely better than it was before. i'll have to see if it is fixed once i get to using it under normal conditions, but i think the key is to have the turret locked down and then while pushing down on zero disk, tighten set screws. oh, it still does tilt some with lateral forces.
