I just bought my first Vortex Razor 5-20 HD. At first glance when I opened the box I thought I'd gotten the wrong scope because it was black, not the original color. So, I was wondering if the color is an option or did they change and when?

Re: Vortex Razor question

Thats actually super weird. I've never seen a Razor in black. Always the bronze/FDE kind of colour.

Did you pick it up from a reputable dealer? I'd be calling Vortex USA (because their customer service is great to deal with) and asking them if its legitimate.

The scope is definitely a Razor and not a PST since I currently own 3.

Re: Vortex Razor question

Ok. I think I'm going nuts. To look at it in different light, it has kind of a bronze tint to it, but overall it does look more black than others I've seen. With a flash it does show a fde color. Is this normal or is it darker than most others?

Re: Vortex Razor question

Looks just like the 2 I have. Nice scope. I'm sure you will love it. The open center on the reticle is the bomb. Watch your battery life. My first Razor would drain the battery in a matter of months with no use. Of course Vortex fixed it after I shipped it back. Best customer service in the business.

Re: Vortex Razor question

That is interesting how black it looks! Perhaps you have a one of a kind?!

One of these days... I'm going to have to pick up one of these to see what all the talk is about.

Re: Vortex Razor question

well that is a Razor...that looks to be the correct color as mine - a little bronze looking. Good luck with the new optic - it is a very nice scope.

Good answer. 100% correct.
