I wanted to know what you guys think about these. Looking at a 1-4x to go on an AR. Mainly for plinking and critters. I have Leupolds, USO's, Acog's, Aimpoints, and other quality optics and wanted to know how these compare for the money.

Thanks!

I counted 11 posts involving PST's on just the first 4 pages of this forum.

Most of them probably contain the information that a very very very limited number of people actually own these yet, and even fewer have done extensive reviews.

There is one detailed review on the 1-4mrad if you search for it.....Ill be a nice guy....

As you can tell from all my pictures I got mine today and am pretty excited about it. Really impressed at the feel and glass for under 800 [SFP not FFP] 6-24x50. I say depending on what you're doing either go Vortex or Aimpoint on the budget. Can't really go wrong with any of them.

I know it's not the 1-4 but the company's quality seems solid to me.

Re: Vortex scopes

So far I LOVE my 1-4 MRAD! Have it on a DPMS LR-308 (Magpul) and have boresighted on indoor 25yd range, then confirmed zero on 100yd outdoor range. Love the reticle (more than I thought I would), glass seems very clear, turrets positve, and illumination with "off" positions inbetween each setting are nice. Haven't had it out on a really bright day testing the daylight illum, but the black reticle seems to acquire quickly. More details soon.

Re: Vortex scopes

I've been very skeptical of the PST line, and I will continue to be until they are properly vetted by the community.

That said, I got a look at a 1-4x PST (alas in MOA) today and I was very impressed with it. Bear in mind that it was little more than a cursory view in the gun shop and not any sense of real world use.

Very nice glass. Good feeling turrets. Very nice reticle. Very nice "feel". Feels well built and rugged. I'd consider getting one for an AR. But not until they've been out for a while and the comments are from actual users, not those judging it based on nothing more than specs and price.

Re: Vortex scopes

I have a PST 1-4 MOA, it's a great little scope. The only bad thing about it is the illumination, it's not daytime bright. So if you can live without that you will be happy with it.

Also, EVERYONE seems to be saying this about the illumination so I wouldn't doubt Vortex doing something to make them a bit brighter.

Those are TPS low [.925"] 30mm on an EGW 20 MOA base.
