Re: Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sights

From what Ive heard through the vine, they are pretty good. Vortex makes good rifle scopes, so Im sure this one is g2g.

Check out this reddot sight,

Cheap money, target knob's, flip up's, and NV compatible. I'm going to try one myself the next time I need a reddot. My only grip is they used to big a dot, 5 moa, 2 moa would have been my choice. If you do get one, let us know what you think. If interested, call Scott @ Liberty Optics, he should be able to tell you how good they are also.

Re: Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sights

I did talk with scott and I think I am going to give them a try.
It has a 4moa dot like aimpoint also NV compatible and the batteries last 2000 hours. Comes with a high rise mount for an AR also all for $149 shipped. I will get one and do the torture test on it to make sure they are any good before giving everyone else the ok.

Re: Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sights

Wow! Thats a great price, I can't wait to find out how good these are. Scott said they are 4moa huh, I hope he's right. It say's 5moa on their web sight, I wish they were 2 moa but 4 is ok. Good luck with it and please post a review when you can.

Re: Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sights

I won one from scott a few months ago in the snipershide drawing her held. I went to install it this last weekend; I looked in the book for information on a torque spec for the mount. They did not give a specific value so I did the usually 65 inch pounds and the cross bolt broke. I contacted vortex and they will be sending me a new mount no questions asked.

They did not give me a different torque spec, but I think I am going to torque it at 45 or 50 inch pounds this time. The sight itself seems nice, good quality. The only thing I do not like is the power on button is easily bumbed and turned on, but with a 2000 hour battery life it is not the end of the world. As long as the new mount holds up it will be a solid unit.

Re: Vortex StrikeFire Red Dot Sights

Just ordered one of these in for a friend. Fit and finish is not up to aimpoint level of quality, however, these have got to be the best value out there. Red or green dot, mount, flip down covers, not too bad battery life, and optical doubler included for the price. If you don't want to spend for Eotech or Aimpoint, this has got to be the answer.
