Thought you might like to check out a couple of bolts that I just finished. Vortex fluting through Black Cerakote. I can also do this through the factory black oxide coating. Me likes.

what do you do to keep the flutes from rusting/corroding? is there a clear over them?

Same thing you do to the inside of the barrel would be my guess. Very impressive look/contrast going through the cerakote like that.

Yep, the fluting on my bolt looks similar and rust was a bit of an initial concern. I just make sure there are not any spots and give it a quick bit of Rem oil with a finger while cleaning.

It is no different than a bolt from a BDL action that has jeweling. Just a light coat of oil like you would normally do, and you are good to go.
