Bought a new 2x7 bdc viper. Seems to be a nice scope except that it has what I can only think to describe as 2 blisters or bubbles toward the bottom right when looking through it. Great glass Holds Zero and tracks, just annoying to see that. I Really hear a lot of good thing about vortex, so I'm Just wondering has any on else had this issue. Could just be a weird defect on just this one. Just wondering.

OK I'm not the best photographer LOL. Trying to hold the camera where you can see it, and I have the rifle propped on my knee also LOL. You can see it when looking straight through and its really noticeable at the lowest power.

Well I have never seen Blobs of adhesive before, even in some cheaper hunting scopes. I was just wondering is that normal to see in these vipers, or do I have a defect on this one?

I've seen some on other scopes, but through the objective end.

I wouldn't say that. Anything including Mercedes Benz can have a defected product every know and then. Its how they deal with the issue when they do have one. I'm sure they have great service, as I bought this scope for my fathers rifle after recommendations from members here.

Anyway I emailed them late last night through the support link on their website, sent the same Picture and asked about it. I'm waiting for a response. I'll let yall know what they say in case anyone else has this same issue with theirs.

Re: Vortex Viper Problem

The the best of my knowledge Vortex is totally sold out of the Viper 2-7x32 with BDC, however, whether you bought it from us or not we'd be glad to swap it out for you with a new one and we'll just work it out with Vortex.
As a sponsor here it is our pleasure to take care of it for you. So, if they tell you they do not have a replacement, just give me a call.
Have a great weekend.

Re: Vortex Viper Problem

Looks to me like an imperfection in the finish on the scope tube itself or one of the lock rings or possibly adhesive. I am 99.99% sure it has nothing to do with the glass. Either way it is an easy fix and will be back on its way to you the same day we get it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Vortex Viper Problem

Update: Vortex sent me a fed ex label Yesterday, they said it would be fixed or replaced ASAP when received. Excellent communication by Vortex's Service so far.

Thanks for that great offer by Doug at Cameraland, you truly are a stand up guy. I'm sending it to vortex tommorow.

Re: Vortex Viper Problem

Every scope manufacturer at some time or another will have a boo boo, We as consumers though don't want to be faced with these problems everytime you want to use there product. So in saying this yes my first Vortex Viper was horrible, the parallax was never set from the factory correctly and would ghost out just so bad that it pissed u off. Now with that being said I get it replaced and since than ordered 2 more for other friends and all is good for them. I however will not own one till they do something to those reticles that resemble 2x6 piece of lumber Decrease to 2x4's. BTW I hate thick and bold crosshairs. There customer service is great and stand by there products.
