Hey all, so as much as I have sworn off Vortex products, I continue to have this damn nagging feeling to "give them one more try..." It feels like a bad song stuck in my head. At any rate, I am currently contemplating an Eotech, which I really like, but I was just at my local fun store and they had a few of these Vortex in stock.
Any of you who have seen my posts against Vortex know that I have experienced several extremely shitty experiences with them, but I still recognize their value in the optics market. Also, I must disclose this caveat - the problems were with the optics themselves, and NOT their customer service. Customer service with Vortex has always been a homerun, but to the degree I have had to employ it is disenchanting.
Looking through this 1-4 PST, I could not help but notice the reticle appeared small and somewhat dark, almost to the point that it would be difficult to see against a dark target/background when the illumination is off. Obviously, this is in the middle of a large store, so lighting was okay, but unlike being outside.
Is the optic to be used with the illumination always turned on like an Eotech?
Any input regarding this particular issue and other feedback about the optic would be great.
Thanks all.
