I have spoken with Vortex and yes, they shipped a small shipment of the 4-16x50's and 6-24x50's to a few dealers. This was an initial delivery for Vortex' inspection and they passed with flying colors.
Now the real deliveries can be released, but it will be 2-5 weeks before those arrive and clear customs. All of us major Vortex dealers, and there are only a handful of us, got less than a half dozen units each of these two models.
We have sent out e-mails, PM's and phone calls to those that pre-ordered to confirm that you still want one. Please respond to these to insure delivery this week.

While disappointing to some, good for Vortex. Better that they receive in 50-100 test scopes to verify all is good and within spec then to flood the market with 5,000 crappy scopes that disappoint the masses. I for one am happy they did it this way.

Precisely. I am not committing to a PST until I see some real field and firing reviews. Hope they work great for the lucky few who have them on the way.

I agree completely, I'm glad that they're taking the necessary steps to ensure that the PST will be a quality product.

I say "bummer" because it's really hard to aim accurately by lining up empty scope rings

While I'm very eager to get my PST, I have no problem being patient as well and I'll look forward to receiving mine whenever they're ready to ship 'em out.

Question, the 6-24x50's that are shipping are these milrad, moa, first or second focal plane models or do you know?

Have you tried using smaller rings? </div></div>

lol... good idea. I might try gluing toothpicks to form crosshairs in one of them too.

Thanks for the heads up Doug, I agree its better to wait and do it right the first time then to have to have to send something back that didn't work the first time. It'll be probably a month until I would even get trigger time behind a rifle, but as long as they're here by august I'll be happy, but happier if sooner!!!

SO if I ordered a 6-24x50 right now - what's the best case I can expect to recieve one? Is it another 2-5 weeks or sometime in Aug? I'm about ready to pull the trigger on one and am hearing several different time frames.

I have done my best to contact all those that had requested us to let them know when the Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-1 MOA became available. I tried, succeeded in some cases and could not contact some in other cases. Anyway, after filling orders I have one of these scopes left available.

Damn!!! If I wasn't already in a trade-in deal with SWFA for that exact same scope I'd cxl the order with them...I'm sure it's no longer available though. If it is, interested in a couple Millett TRS-1's in trade? Match SWFA's deal of $325 for both and I'll take that scope!

Yep, I called right after he posted and he still had it if I wanted it. But was holding out for a Mil/mil, so I guess I'm on the waiting list now. I thought about the MOA one, but I'm too used to thinking in mils now to change back.

I snagged this 6-24x50 FFP EBR-1 MOA from Camera Land. All of the ‘kudos’ posts about these guys are correct. Doug and Joel were super to deal with!

Congradulations on grabbing that! I'm waiting for a 6-24 FFP Moa model also, but I ordered from Optics Planet, only because I had a 10% off coupon. For
$90, I'll wait a few weeks.
