Because a barrel is usually cheaper than a new chassis with weights. Current barrel shoots great but its a 22" MTU, I'd replace it with a 25" straight.

When I got my first Vudoo, not only were 25" 1.25 straight profiles not available, I didn't know I needed one.
I got a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle to play with tuners and suppressors, and discovered that a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle wasn't really optimal.
Then folks started playing with fast twist rimfire barrels, and that seemed to be worth trying out, so might as well put weight into the barrel, where it is the most efficient for several things. Direct-mounting the tuner also had advantages over attaching to a 1/2-28 thread, and suppressors do not help in the game.
I didn't have any issues with group size from the factory barrels, was mostly weight/balance and faster twists for longer shots.
