Maybe not: think about how many ATA missiles they can mount and how much cannon ammo they typically carry, and then consider the number of Japanese planes. They'd have probably had to fly back to the future for more rocks to chuck. The better bet would have been to find the carriers and be a leg up pre-Midway.
