Suppressors Walther P22 or Sig Mopsquito

Re: Walther P22 or Sig Mopsquito

I have the p22, a later model. My Walther has both the short and long (5in) barrel. My p22 is a so-so handgun that is sensitive to which magazine will feed without malfunction. As far as accuracy, it will hit pop-cans at 25 yards off hand, but groups poorly when shooting a target. That said, the Walther barrel is pre-threaded for a can.
My shooting partner has the Sig Mosquito, and he loves it.
When it came to buying a 22 for my son, we chose the Ruger MarkII.

Re: Walther P22 or Sig Mopsquito

+1 for the P22.
The early run magazines were changed along the way to an "improved" magazine. I have a short barreled green P22 with an AWC can and its been a really good and reliable shooter.

Be aware of SIG customer service. My friend has a Mosquito and it was really ammo sensitive (CCI only)to get it to run good. He was doing a lot of burring and fitting and got it running really well. After this he decided to drop the trigger pull by taking a coil or two off the mainspring. He went too far and had misfires.

Now the fun part-

He calls sig to get a spring and no-go. They wanted him to send the entire pistol in for "service". They would not sell a simple spring. The spring is an odd ball for coil thickness and length. They make some nice firearms but if you can not get a simple part in makes me re-think buying anything they make.

(I have a SIG 556 rifle and it's a GREAT weapon.)

+1 my brother bought one for his wife, its a handsome little gun but it seems to jam the first two or three rounds of every magazine.

There are many threads on this forum with similar conclusions. I am a Sig fan as well. Partly because of this I went with the Walther P22 and could not be happier. I have tried about five different types of ammo and no jams. I bought mine recently and put a YHM Mite can on it. The gf loves shooting it with the silencer on it. Having the threaded barrel certainly is a plus.

Try some quick searchs here and you will find this topic has been heavily played out. Use this:

My favorite 22 pistol though is the CZ Kadet. I need to get that barrel threaded soon.

Don't know about the Mosquito, as I have not run into one yet, but Myself and two other friends have owned P-22's, and not one was completely reliable, with mine being downright picky about ammo. I now have gone back to the Ruger MK series, and am in the process of getting one of the Paclite uppers from Tactical Solutions for it. Should make a great pot meat gun for multiday excursions.
