Wondering if anyone has swapped out the ginormous brake that comes with the rifle to something that is more effective at taming recoil. After 25 rounds I'm worn out and not having fun.

I have a brake from Muzzle Brakes and More on another rifle and I really like it but I don't want to spend $ to find out the factory brake is the best option.

Not trying to be a smartass, but shooting with a can is really what tames my 338. Compared to the brake, I have a significantly easier time staying on the target in the scope. 300 grainers at 2900+ all day long.

In to see what you figure out. I’ve thought about putting a gen 2 fat bastard on mine but I’m like you, I don’t want to spend the money to figure out the factory brake was better.

I purchased a Terminator break for my savage and it was night and day difference for me. Think more along the lines of a stout 308 or 300 win mag. with the T3. A little spendy, but worth every penny over stock break.

Pva just came out with their shockwave brake.....if it’s anything like the jet blast I’ll be picking one up.

Just sent PVA an email asking if they would sell me a brake but also accept a return if it doesn't do a better job than factory. I'm not looking for 5+ Brakes at $150-200 a piece just to find out the Savage brake is just as good. Hopefully PVA will be able to offer it. I'll keep this updated.

Okay just shot the rifle again w the PVA Sidewinder. All I can say is "WOW"

Granted my Savage brake was much larger is was doing noting compared to this. It's so much more tame now! It's seriously a pleasure to shoot. I shot 10 rounds and enjoyed all of them.

Of of course I had a slight POI shift but that's to be expected. My groups didn't shrink or open, they just did their thing.

I know this brake is a bit pricy but it is 100% worth it in my opinion.
