i am in the market for a 300 win mag barrel. i do want a polygonal rifled barrel, and i see pac nor makes them. do they straighten barrels at pac nor? and even more important do they shoot good and for a long time? if not, i will get a 5r bart

It will shoot good. Get one but if you're more comfortable with bartlein go there. You won't be disappointed with either
Only PacNor barrel I had was on a DCM/CMP 20" AR. It was a 1:6.5" twist, 3-groove that was an absolute hammer with 69s, 77s, 80SMKs and 90 JLKs. Don't limit yourself. Talk to PacNor (or any high-quality barrel maker) about what groove configuration and twist rate will serve you best for the bullets you intend to shoot. The Lilja MK13 barrels are 1:10", 4-groove for the 220SMKs.
is there a reason that you are stuck on a 5R
i have never seen a difference in life or accuracy with a 5R compared to a regular 4 groove (keieger, Bartlein, schnieder, broughton, stainless and hammer forged).
did a 388 LM in a 3 groove, there used to be some that believed that the throat of a 3 groove would not erode as fast because of the larger rifling.
i didnt find that to be the case either.
the percentage of land to groove should be the same amount of total material regardless of the number of grooves.

I have a standard rifled 5 groove Pac-Nor on a 223 bolt gun. It's been a great barrel so far. Not ammo picky, doesn't seem to foul quickly.
I have a Pac-Nor 5r in 280 ackley. Great barrel. I would like to try one of their polygonal barrels some time though.
Pacnor makes top quality barrels as does many companies. I don't know what you mean by straighten but if you mean stress relieve, I'm sure they do.
Barrel life should be about the same as all the others with all things the same.
For me it comes down to availability, but my first choices these days are Hawk Hill and Bartlein. There's a lot of great barrels out there, a general rule of thumb is if it's $300 or more for a blank then it's a good one.

i like the new rifling designs mostly on a maintenance reason. what i mean by straightening is putting it in a press and bending the barrel. savage does it on button manufactured barrels, and i know winchester used to straighten their barrels along time ago but i am not sure if they still do. i believe only cut rifled barrels don't need to be straightened but chf might also be straight right after forging. usually a factory worker uses a light and a string parallel inside the bore is held tight, and the shawdows will tell the story. interesting to me, just something i am curious about
