Re: Want to buy new rifle.

Like force said, need more information.

The CZ 550 Varmint is around $900 new. Remingtons can be all over the board as well as the Savage.

We don't even know what caliber you plan to go with and what your primary purpose for the rifle will be...

Extremely vague...

Re: Want to buy new rifle.

I think savage makes a very accurate and affordable rifle how ever for sake of resale you may want to check around for a used 700 Action. You can get them for around 400 All day long. Just a thought if you were going to replace the stock and possibly the barrel in the future.

Re: Want to buy new rifle.

My experience with Savage rifles (4 so far) has been that they are more consistently accurate right out of the box - more so than my Weatherby or Remington, and close to if not better than my CZ550. There are lots of parts readily available for both the Remingtons and the Savages, but you can more easily change barrels yourself with a Savage. Scope mounting options on the CZ are limited - I had to make my own 20 MOA picatinny base. If you are just starting out, shooting is the most important thing, so don't spend a lot of money on custom or tacticool stuff until you know what you like and don't like.
