Lookin for something a little more than your typical factory 223 Remmy. I’m not looking to spend a fortune though, maybe $1k at the most but I wouldn’t be opposed to a 700 with an aftermarket barrel. If I can’t find one for a reasonable price, I’ll just do a Rem-age.

A little bit more but i have a trued 700 that has also been switch lugged in 223/6dasher. The dasher can get reamed out to any 6mm you would like if you dont want the dasher
I'd recommend a Howa barreled action. Brownell's has them in Cerekote Gray for $577.00 I bought one, years ago from a local FFL and it turned out to be a real tack driver. It liked the 55 grain V-MAX over W748 powder best. I really tried to get it to shoot well with the newer cleaner powders but kept comming back to the W748. I've read many posts across multiple forums by reloaders with similar experience. When I say Tack_Driver I mean sub .5 MOA.
Ideally lookin for something faster twist. I sold my Remington LTR with a 1:9 but ideally I’m wanting something 1:7 or MAYBE 1:8 for the right rifle. Howa’s are shooters though
Ahhh! You want to shoot the heavier bullets past 400. I'll be interested in hearing what you come up with.
I've got a trued Rem 700 on a Bartlein hvy varmit contour, smithed by Omega Precision I'm contemplating selling. It's been my training rifle, have around 550 rds through it, 75 AMAX at 2950ish. 1/4" groups. If you're interested, I could get all the specs.
