wanting new 308 and need help to not break bank

I have just had another child so i dont have tons of money laying around but i want a nice remmy style varmit bbl with some kind of detachable (badger,CDI,AICS, etc.) bottom metal to accept 5-10 rd mags. FN,remington, tikka, (the right browning but i doubt it) etc. rifles will all be ok. i plan on adding to it a little at a time bit dont really want a sps or any all black remmy rifle in the sps series i dont however like the aacd (i think its called) with the hogue stock and threaded bbl that remmy is making and i like the 700p too but its not threaded and has the black stock which is terrible i guess as i can paint it. I have been looking on here and found a rem 5r for 1400 with a SS scope that i have been looking at but i think i want a thicker bbl and no stainless but who knows. If anyone knows/or are a gunsmith that can put me the bottom metal i want and possible thread the bbl and knob it for me for around 1k or less for a new 700p or the remmy aaa-cd (or whatever its called with the threaded bbl offered by remington with the hogue stock factory please letme know. I want to do this very soon and dont want a long wait time. Or if anyone has anything laying around please PM me as i would love to take it off your hands for the right price or i have a lot to trade if we wanna go that route i just wanted some help cause i know you guys know your gun stuff and may can help me out with something i dont know. Thanks so much and please feel free with any ideas/suggestions thanks

You can get the 5R in a 20 inch threaded and with the HS precision stock. You can send it to a smith and have them inlet the stock for whatever bottom metal you prefer.

FN SPR A1.

Absolute fuckin hammer.

No need to waste time screwing around with parts truing, barrel re-working, or misc horse shit. Adjust your trigger to where you like it, and start winning matches...

later on...

CDI bottom metal, and call it a night.

Not to mention I built my entire SPS rifle for around 1,000 bucks and I got a 1'' group at 508 yards this past weekend and was ringing the 954yard target no problem.

One, please break up your posts a bit, it was a bit hard to decipher.

If I am reading it correctly, you want a heavy barreled .308.
First you say you don't like the threaded barrel, but don't want to buy a 700P because the barrel isn't threaded.

You don't want a black rifle, or a stainless rifle.
Hate to break it to you, but those are your two basic options.

You want a heavier barrel than the one on a 5r. Sorry, not made by Remibgton unless you buy an M24, which is probably beyond you budget.
The barrel on the 5R is the same contour as on the 700P, which is the same as on the varmint models.

Now, the good news.
Buy an SPS varmint and a B&C medalist series stock. You can get them in different colors and it will still cost less than a 5R or 700P.

Other than that, start looking at Savage tactical rifles.
