Not really familar with Warne, but looking for a mount & rings for a Remington 7600 deer rifle(pump). I've come up with Warne and Leupold so far.

Can anybody speak to Warne quality? Or any other ideas on mouting a scope on a Rem 7600?

Re: Warne quality??

Mr. Pink, I am like you say, not really a fan of Warne, but I think the quality is there. I am sure they will do a fine job of holding your scope.

Re: Warne quality??

I got a set of the Warne Tactical ring. The ones made with the (6) allan bolts in the top cap. They seam to be good rings for the price. I bought mine for 30$ but after looking for more they seam to sell higher that that. After asking the shop about more of them he told me. The shop had ordered them in 30MM and the guy needed 1" so I guess I may got a deal on a returned set of rings.

Re: Warne quality??

Ive used several of the Warne rings and can honestly say they make quality products. As does EGW,TPS, Leaupold, Badger, IOR you name it. They all are similiar in quality. It just depends on your wallet and what you want to spend. Personally I think rings are psychological purchase (Name Brand). Now there are exceptions to that... You can compare some really cheap rings and tell there wasnt a whole lot QC being done to them. You can also take some really shitty rings and lap them to make them better. My point is Warne is a good product and I dont think you would be disappointed.

Re: Warne quality??

Also keep in mind your application. Is it goin on a pic rail or just regular weaver mounts? Some mfg's sell what they say are pic style rings but are really weaver style. Its always a good idea to find out from the mfg what kind of recoil lug is used on their rings. Burris is notorious. There XTR ring is two sided...one side pic rail and the other weaver.

Re: Warne quality??

Warne is good to go. I have a couple sets of rings from them and have been very satisfied with them. I will say they are a little tougher to mount than some you have to be carful to tighten top and bottom up evenly. But once they are mounted they seem to be crazy tough and durable. I would not hesitate to buy another set if it fit my needs/setup.

Re: Warne quality??

Warne is good to go. I have a few of their mounts on various rigs and have never had a minutes problem out of any of them. A few of those rigs are hard hitters of the magnum variety.

Re: Warne quality??

I'm running three of their picatinny rails right now.A little rough, yes they are.But they are also a well built product.

And i have also used a couple of sets of their rings. No complaints!

Re: Warne quality??

My Nightforce manual actually suggests Warne rings as an alternative to their rings. I have them, and they are very good rings. The only negative about them is that it is more difficult to get everything mounted up and level than the standard horizontally split rings. When you tighten up the mounting screws it pulls both halves together, so you have to get the scope leveled, and keep it leveled while you mount it to the base.

Re: Warne quality??

I tried Warne ring-mounts on a Sako (two sets) and they wouldn't hold zero. It was to do with the tapered bases on the Sako acting as a wedge and driving the rings apart under recoil...Have used Warne rings on ther rifles however and they have been great, just not on Sako's...

Re: Warne quality??

I've got a set of Warne's on my LR308. I think there pretty good. Like what was mentioned they are a PITA to get the scope centered and aligned in them. Otherwise they are pretty nice. I have the QD ones and when I was putting them on I managed stripping out one of the rods for the QD. My mistake, but I called them and they sent me a replacement set for no charge.

I'd get a set again,

Re: Warne quality??

I asked this question awhile back here and got lots of positive responses, so we carry them. The rails are nicely made steel and are worth the money. I, and my customers, are spoiled by Seekins and he outsells Warne like 20:1 for us. But for guys that have to have steel they are good to go.

Now the rings, I can't give those away. And when I do they seem to come right back. If anyone is interested, I'll ship whatever I have real cheap for the batch. Not sure what I have been I've got a least a couple sets back there.

Re: Warne quality??

I like the Warne Maxima verticle split rings. They are my default choice for many uses.

I have never had a set mark the scope, and I have only one occasion where a ring came loose (Mounting a DMS-1 on my FAL) and I'm sure the problem was in my installation, not the ring since it hasn't come loose since then.

Are they the best? Hell no, but they work fine. I just installed a set last light on my T/C Venture in 300 Win Mag to mount a Sightron SII 3-9x42 HHR.
