I'd love to get into one of these optics...but why would an optic this good...have a 1 year warranty? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think it has to do with the military warranty. If they had a longer commercial warranty they would have to differenciate the models and sell mil-spec to the Mil only. Like NF does. There are two different warrantys for one for civillian sales Limited lifetime and one for military sales which is a ten year warranty as well as different built mil-spec scopes.
I have a Specter DR 1x-4x that I use for LE Demos. It wont have a problem standing up to years of hard use. Elcan has repair facilitys and can take care of whatever goes wrong with it if it needs it after the year. More than likely you wont need it.
I know its not warm and fuzzy but wait till you put that scope on your rifle you will be impressed!
