Weapon mounted light?

Re: Weapon mounted light?

I actually picked up a surefire M951 KIT for about $140 one ebay and that was brand new in the package. There's good deals on ebay for surefire stuff. I know you said under $100, but if you can spend the extra $40-$60 its probably worth it.

Im sure there are decent lights by other companies, but why risk it, I'd rather spend $140 on something that I will know will last rather than spending $80, having it break, and spending another $80.

surefire g2 LED and a vltor light mount from brownells, mount them on the same side as your support hand, and use your thumb to activate it. Also very light wieght.

Streamlight Super Tac

Take a look at the Super Tac. It is inexpensive LED with a good throw and bright light. The light is pretty versatile and can be quickly engaged or disengaged from the rifle for use as a handheld light in the event your regular light goes tits up.
several guys I work with run this light and have found it to hold up well and not break the cop piggy bank.

O-Light M-24 - 700 Lumens LED. IF anything breaks on that light it can be replaced for minimal amout of money, and you can change the throw of the light along with the different low, medium, high and it has a strobe function that when it activated strobes at 700 lumens. Under 100 bucks.

Re: Weapon mounted light?

+1 for Jakhamr's suggestion. I run a G2 LED, in a 1" ring, mounted on a short rail at the 10 o'clock position. When I'm shooting right handed, my support thumb activates the tailcap switch. If I switch to left handed shooting, my index knuckle is in place to bump the switch. If you don't like that, there are aftermarket pressure tape switches available.
