A wholesome spring morning for a suburban Michigan family was violently shattered when a pervert attempted to kidnap an 8 year old girl outside her home looking for wildflowers.
Thirteen year old Owen Burns was playing video games in his room when his 8 year old sister told him that she wanted to look for mushrooms and flowers in the yard outside their family home. He told her to enjoy the morning sunlight and be careful. Minutes later, screams pierced the air as a 17 year old pervert grabbed the girl and tried to carry her away. Owen Burns picked up the first thing that came to mind, his slingshot, throwing open the window, and fired a marble and small rock at the attacker, striking and wounding him in the chest and head, forcing him to drop the girl and flee. Cadillac police found the attacker a while later bloodied from where the projectiles had hit him and took him into custody with charges of abduction and endangering the welfare of a child. Thirteen year old Owen Burns is being hailed as a hero by his entire community for preventing a potential tragedy from taking place.

MY TAKE: A 17 year old forcibly trying to take an 8 year old child from a home? Yeah, I can fucking GUARANTEE, 100 FUCKING PERCENT, that if he succeeded in taking her, that 8 year old girl is NEVER returning alive to her family. Her broken and violated body would be found by a search party in some woodland or roadside ditch days later. Followed by a devastated family with one or more parent possibly committing suicide or spiraling into alcoholism from the shock. NOTHING remotely good would have come out of this. If only Owen Burns had a Pathfinder slingbow and a broadhead arrow, this piece of shit would never be able to offend again. An incident like this is an automatic shoot on sight and shoot to kill for anyone who comes upon it.
But we have to accept what we have so far, and that is this family is safe, thanks to the quick pragmatic actions of 13 year old Owen Burns. KUDOS to him.
