I just got a weaver 16x off E Bay and my plan is to
mount it on my 308 Rem700 sps ...whats your thoughts
on this idea? will the scope hold up on the rifle?
Never had a weaver befor this..I want to use it for
F class as a starter rifle...So also whats you thoughts on
the rifle for a starter rifle...I mean I might not
like the compitention thing....

Re: weaver 16x on a 308 ?

in ten tears I have mounted the same second-hand made in Japan KT15 on a 7,62 nato L1A1,transferred on a .308/ 700,selled 6 month ago to replace it with another Weaver in 36x_now my former KT15 is again on a friend's .308/700,and it never stop to work well_

Re: weaver 16x on a 308 ?

why not, it should serve you well in Fclass as long as you can hold 1/2 MOA.
have fun anyway, I learned a lot about shooting and reloading in a few years of Fclass matches, lots of good folks around there.

I have a 30 year old T-10 steel tubed Weaver that was a first generation silhouette scope that's still going strong and tracks with the best of them. Weaver was one of the first U.S. makers to stress repeatable adjustment.
