I'm sure this has been asked many times so forgive me but is there a disadvantage to using weaver spec rings on a picatinny spec rail? I know that the rings will fit just fine but would I be better off with picatinny rings for some reason? Thanks in advance.

Re: Weaver on Picatinny?

Weaver rings use a lower torque spec due to the smaller cross bolt. This might matter with a heavy scope and serious recoil. Other then that sort of application as long as the crossbolts are firmly against the back of a recoil lug and they're properly torqued, there should be no issue, pic rings aren't a press/zero clearance fit either so they too can move if loose.
