Rifle Scopes Weaver T-Series 24x40?

New scope arrived.
Checking functionality (dismounted).
Can't unlock the elevation/windage knobs.
What step am I missing?

Caps unscrew revealing the turrets as it comes in the box.

Thanks. ...Been there; done that.

Also replaced the as-configured knobs with the provided optional "target" knobs that come in the box. Still no motion in either direction.

Just checking, you never know.....
Will the asemblies turn with the caps off? If not it sounds flat out broken. I've ran T24's on my silhouette guns and never had a problem with them turning hard, and there is no "lock" to them.

Got it! ...Finally.
Apparently, each knob just required a very emphatic first twist effort to get them moving. All's well now! Thanks for the help.
