Ok, so I have a Triad Tactical Wedge that I’ve used for years and for some reason here recently it seems to be leaking some kind of oily substance and it smells terrible. I don’t know if it got wet and then I left it in my pack to mildew or what. I’ve tried everything I know. I’ve washed it, lysoled it, set it in the sun, put it in rice, washed it and set it out to dry, all kinds of things and it still is leaking this weird oily substance and stinks. Anyone got any ideas? It wouldn’t be a huge problem but whatever this crap is gets all over my gear in my pack. Has anyone else had an issue like this with any of their bags? Could it be that the beads are somehow breaking down? I dunno, I just want my wedge back to the way it was. I could throw it out and get a new one but I hate to toss a perfectly good bag.

Interesting, I've got a couple of Steve's wedges and they are my go to bags. Had them for several years and can't even imagine how many rounds, no leaky yet?

Yes. I’ve had mine probably for a decade. It’s not the bag itself as it still works and looks great. Steve makes quality stuff, I just can’t figure out what is going on with it. To me it seems as if the poly is breaking down into some kind of oily substance. But I can’t prove that. It’s weird whatever it is.

Hi. Just saw this thread. Yes, we have an issue with the fill we were using 3+ years ago. We have had 4-5 clients contact us in the last 4 months describing the same issue as OP. We have looked into the time frame of those orders and the estimated time those bags would have come out of production. As far as we can tell, the problem is in the coating that the bead manufacturer was putting on them so the beads would easily move in their bulk materials systems. We can't confirm this, since the bead provider is out of business now, and we have a new provider for the last 3 years or so. Two clients have soaked their bags in a product like simple green cleaner, rinsed and let air dray for a few days, with good results. We have cut open a few bags that we got back and the weird thing is there is no change is the shape/size/feel of the beads themself.

We are of course, offering an exchange to anyone with our bag that's having the same issue. If you are having issues, please contact us through the contact info on the site. I can confirm that EVERY single Whale Blubber filled bag that we made is still intact and performing as designed :)

    Thank you for your support.

Customer support. How does one do better than this. All business-products or what have you will have an issue at times. It is how it is handled that separates the men from the boys. Thanks TRIAD for for your support and response!!!!!

Wow! @Triad Steve (Triad Tactical) is awesome. I contacted him and within minutes had a reply and within minutes from my response had another bag shipped out to my current address!!! That is customer service! I highly recommend these guys. I’ve gotten several things from them and customer service has always been top notch, but this is on a whole other level!!! I wish all businesses within our community were ran this well. Thanks again Steve! You rock.

If your bead supplier carries beads marked "Lightweight fill" and "Prelubed Anal" it's always a risk that the warehouse guy will fuck you over.

Nice stand up job coming on to back the product.

    Buy Triad with confidence.

Thats why I like to keep my finger in the business end of things around here. Wait, WHAT........

Since receiving my rifle over a month ago, I've procrastinated ordering my Triad Tactical Wedge for no other reason than I've been a bit preoccupied with work. Triad's response in this thread was just the motivation I needed to place my order earlier today between appointments. Thanks Steve!

I made sure I placed an order for something else to go along with my replacement bag. If Steve is going to stand by his products this well the least I can do is make another purchase

My wedge which is 6 years old became weird too !
I own also a RBG and a 1/2 pint, but the wedge is my favorit.
I'll have to replace it. Until then, I'm still using it.
