I had a senior moment last night and dropped my NXS scope on the floor in the basement. It hit perfectly on the front bell at the 3o/clock position. It did not break the glass but it did put a nice little flat spot on my bell. Is there anyway to rectify this? The shade will not screw into it at all.

Ive seen a similar situation in person... whilst the bell did not have any dents, the sunshade was knocked out pretty bad.

The top of the sunshade had about a 1.5mm gap between the shade and scope body, whereas the bottom sat flush as it should.

After much stressing and head scratching we eventually grabbed the sunshade and forcefully unscrewed it... whipe away and shaving that had formed in the threads and then proceeded to carefully screw the shade back on... it took a bit of force from memory but the shade now screws/unscrews like it never even happened.

No change in POI or tracking at all.

Depending on how gutsy your feeling you could try this yourself, but if you have any doubts just give NF a buzz and tell them about your issue. It will be fixable
