Perp, identified as Curtis Ray Watson, convicted of kidnapping and raping a woman, is still on the loose after breaking out of a prison work detail on a tractor. After his escape, he had been seen prowling around the residence of West Tennessee corrections director Debra Johnson. Her body was discovered inside her residence after coworkers became alarmed at her absence from work. Watson is a suspect in her death, now ruled a homicide.

Serving sentence for kidnapping and rape. Previous rap sheet includes child abuse.

Watson, who has since been added to the TBI’s most wanted list, has been behind bars since 2013. He was convicted and sentenced to 15 years on an aggravated kidnapping charge after police said he knocked a woman over the head with a blunt object and then repeatedly raped her.

He was also previously jailed for child abuse but was released in 2011.

Was seen at her house hours before the escape. There is more to the story then what’s being reported. They are attempting to contain the details of the relationship that was probably going on. Sad but a guy that rapes a female repeatable is already working outside the fence on a tractor at the wardens house??

This. Was thinking the same thing.

I am pretty sure inmate work projects involve everything except operating heavy machinery and vehicles. Hell, even shop classes and other training held within the confined walls of the facilities have logbooks on every hand tool, nail, screw, and other piece of equipment to make sure nothing leaves the room when the inmates leave.
