looking to get an accurate .17 bolt action, something i can thread to put my suppressor on. don't want to spend a bunch of money on it, it's just a .17.....

one of the savage 17hmrs will be great. I personally think the tr series are overpriced, but to each his own. You can pick up an fv and add one of boyds tacticool stocks from the crazydeals section for $65 and a rifle basix trigger and be under what a tr costs. The only thing you wont have is the bolt knob and flutes from the tr.
spend the money save on ammo, rings, extra mags, 20moa base, or whatever. I've had three savage 17hmrs and the gv (wood stock, heavy barrel) I had was the best shooter and the least expensive one I purchased.

I have a savage 93v17, a CZ 452 varmint and a couple of chipmunks for my my kids. All are 17hmr and shoot well. That being said I think the savage is the most accurate so far. I don't think you could go wrong with the savage for accuracy for the money. good luck Rthur

I am sending mine over to Brownells to thread the barrel. I assume 17HMR will still bark with a can but not as much...

Gotta shout out for the Marlin 917. Never let me down. I have a Boyds tacticool for it arriving Wednesgay. Usually it's an argumant between the Marlin and the Savage. You really can't go wrong either way. I don't really know that much about the CZ though.

I''ve only shot about 100 rounds each of CCI & Hornady, with the CCI holding a little edge in accuracy over the Hornady. Hopefully the wind will allow more range time with the 17 on Sunday.

I have a marlin 917vs and it's a tack driver for sure. I love it. I like the accutrigger in the savage better than the trigger in my marlin but it's older and dose not have the t900 trigger. You won't go wrong with either of them.

You can get a Rifle Basix trigger for about $90. Whole new rifle.
