Rifle Scopes what 20moa scope base should I use?

I use Badger Ordnance Base and Rings and have had great luck with them. There are a lot of good quality manufactures out there. Just stay away from Chinese crap.A bad set of rings can damage a perfect good scope.Use the search function on this web site to check out different bases and rings. You will find a wealth of information.Your base and rings set up is just as important as the quality of scope you use.Make sure you get the right height rings based on the size of scope you are using.I try to buy the lowest height rings that will fit on my set up. (I just like to have my scope low as possible for a comfortable prone position.)

Near Mfg. or Badger fit the bill for me. I prefer steel over aluminum, so Seekins is out, and I want a recoil lug. I just ordered a Near. Richard is a fine guy to buy from and his stuff is meticulously machined. Takes a few days more to get, since it comes from Canada, but worth it. His Alphamounts are also rock solid.

I recently bought a Warne Maxima base and returned it. First, the radius at the rear was not a radius, it was a curved "V". Second, the base did not extend forward like the Badger or Near limiting the forwar range for mounting by about an inch. Third, it did not have a recoil lug.

I also try to stick with steel equipment. I've used & had great luck with NightForce Direct Mount, Badger Ordnance, Leupy MK4 & my last two pic rails were from Cameron at Murphy Precision. I agree with the above statement that read "Your base and rings set up is just as important as the quality of scope you use." I couldn't have said it better.
