I just got back from a gun show. I was hoping to find a KAC SR-25 or a GAP-10, or a LMT-MWS. NADA still it was not a total loss. While I was walking around I noticed some really nice wood on an older Ruger No1 .223 Hbar with base and rings, after some clever negotiating I got a fairly good deal on it.
Now I need a 1 inch scope to put into those rings. I wonder if anyone can recommend a good scope for this gun. I would prefer something US made, 1 inch tube, about 6.5X-20X. But, I am open to other ideas.
I did notice two vendors selling rifles with what I believe were counterfeit Leupold Mark 4’s on them. They did not have the Leupold Medallion, and the one I picked up lacked a SN. I wonder what I should have done. I would not have cared to get into an argument with a gunshow vendor, and I am not really enough of an expert on these things to identify a counterfeit beyond a reasonable doubt to LE.
