Consistency. Take a look at a box of 175SMKs and look at the tips of the bullets and you'll see how much variation there is. Trimming and pointing helps consistency from bullet to bullet.

It will also reduce alittle bit of BC BUT.. What you get is Consistancy!

Meplat trimming makes the variance in BC go down (better).
Meplat pointing (Widen) makes the BC go up (better still).
