Midway will never tell. They do like the Sierra 55 HPBT, but they use a generic picture to represent the bullet. So there is no way to know from the picture.

The normal full price for the non- seconds item is a way to tell. The Sierras are $21.99 per box, so that would be my guess, as no other .224 55 gn boattail matches the full list price.

Does Sierra sell factory seconds? What made 'em seconds? Because they could be more trouble than they're worth.
Sierra will sell seconds in person at their factory- by the pound like if you were buying bulk nails. Definitely worth checking to see if sorting is necessary.
The hollow point looks more like the dog town bullets, but I don't think they have a BT version. I ran out to look, all my 55 Sierras are currently loaded. Its been a long time since i didn't have an empty box them laying around.

I mean whats a 55 for, 300y plinking, especially looking at the 55 Sierra HPBT has a B.C of around .114 I think. I have run through 3 or 4k sierra 77 hpbt blems with no problems. I have been through probably 7k blems total and haven't ran into anything unusable for that purpose.
Exactly. All my 223/5.56 ammo goes into my AR which is for 0-500y. As long as I can hold 2-3 MOA in that, I'm a happy guy. If I can't hold 2-3 MOA within 500 yards, they they gonna be pretty scared with pew pews landing all around them!!

The picture on Midway's website is a stock picture of a Sierra. The ones you actually have look like Noslers. I have 2K of them right now that I got from Shooter's Pro Shop. They fly as well as any other as far as I can tell.
If I remember correctly, I paid $0.10 a piece about 3 years ago.

Look at the difference in ogive length and the relative difference in the width of the meplat.
So have we settled on Nosler? I guess I’ll work up a few loads for this weekend. I’ll report back my findings. Hopefully good.
