Re: What coating does Accuracy International use?

I think that they are "olled" and then the epoxi paint is owen hardened on them.

But hey that is just me, any chance one might convince you to make it a pink barrel, just to be able to tell wich one that you are shooting for the day?

Best regards yours truly Christian.

I doubt that they are oiled. If epoxy coated, the steel would be bead blasted to near white, then coated. Epoxy is very tough, but typically thick. If too thick, this can lead to chipping.

Re: What coating does Accuracy International use?

Steve- I doubt that too,

however the term I used within " " is a swedish term or slang if you please for a rather rude act,

Mr C and I are friends IRL and I can not pass up a chance to haze him some.

Perhaps that better explains my poor spelling?

Re: What coating does Accuracy International use?

I've had minimal wear on the AI coating on my AW (and it is now 6 years old, has been in and out of bags, in the back of the car and used in all weathers).

There is a good vid on the durability of CeraKote that Lowlight posted some time back.

What would you reckon on the Epoxy coating, is it beneficial compared to cerakote or whats the verdict? </div></div>Rugged as hell. I abused the shit out of the finish of my 26" AW barrel getting it off the rifle. I couldn't get my vise to grab, and I was trying every sort of shim I could fine. I was amazed that the finish held up to it.

Re: What coating does Accuracy International use?

Yes, I'm of the same opinion, my side panels looks like sheite, but my barrel looks like it did the day it came out out of the box, would love to have that coating again on my new barrel. Anyone who knows anyone who does epoxy-coating of barrels?
