OK.

Black, despite being tacticool is not the best color for concealment. What color to do a barrel+action in (obviously with a flat finish)? The stock is black, but will change someday. Uses need to be generalized, but mix of forest, fields and urban (so not desert or mountain).

I was thinking something in an earth tone.

Re: What color duracoat...

well most urban buildings have some shade of a brown or tan generally in an urban area as well as being the color of most dirt id say some shade of brown/tan would be a good base color.

yeah id say thats an ideal color for your general use.

im searching for a similar base color for my bolt rifle and that may very well be my choice. ill be trying to adapt to urban, high desert, and some mountain terrains to cover all terrains in my area. ill probably go with dark earth and then add some simple secondary striping or brush look in greens and browns but not too cluttered.

Minus sounding like you are expecting zombies or an invasion of our country any time soon. Paint your rifle to match the terrain your are hunting. There is no one camo pattern for every enviroment. Yes multicam is a step foward but show up with it in the CO mountains in spring and you'll look like a Jacka**. Again, match your camo to your enviroment. Also, why urban? For real. WTH. Minus for look at me in my backyard pics? METTT-C

why any camo on a tactical rifle if were going to get right down to it? the only true need for camo will be on a sporter barrel hunting rifle. and you deffinatly dont need a ghillie suit to hunt a deer so lets throw those away too...

its a second kind of cool vern...

Sigh. There's always one, right?

I just put that in there for the fact that I don't want the hardcore hunting mossy oak, real tree, etc patterns. Guess I should've just been more clear.
