Re: What do you carry in your data book?

Well! I have a training Data Book that all of my training shots are recorded with all of the environmental data, lot #, Position, Training Focus, Round Count, Drop Charts, Range Estimation Charts, Wind Charts, Calculator, Pencil, Eraser, Template, Moving Target Lead Charts, and some more I'm sure.

Operational Data Book (Smaller than Training Book to fit in a pocket) - Situation Briefing paging, Suspect Information, Hostage Info, Location Info, Multiple Target Info, Misc. Size References, Communications Network Info, Cold Bore Information (Track cold bore variations from Training Book), Wind Chart, Moving Target Lead Chart, Range Chart, Hold Over Chart, Operational Data Page, Misc. Information Pages/Check Lists, Pencil, Calculator and misc. are kept in vest pocket also.

Looks like you have the basics! Now just add some pages to record your information and you are ready to go shoot!

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

Where did you get that calculator?? I can't seem to find one like that! Nice and thin and locks into the rings!!

So far I have in mine:

The Impact Data Book itself
Mil-dot Master and its instruction booklet
A couple of basic printed charts
The Sniper Template
Write in the rain pen
Pencil

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

The calculator came with a six ring daily planner I bought at Fred Meyer (a local variety store). I stripped everything out of the daily planner except for the cover and the calculator and inserted it into the tactical tailor cover.

Calculator is both battery and solar capable and as you noticed locks into the rings.

Check around your local variety stores, Office Depot, etc. You should be able to find something similar...

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

All the pages in my data book are printed on rite in the rain paper. Other than a pencil, the rite in the rain pen, my favorite pens for writing on that stuff are the permeant map markers in super fine.

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

TT looks like you have yourself a nice little setup going.

Now to finish it up you can take advantage of the modular offerings we offer at Impact Data Books. You can select from over 250 target collection pages we offer in 80 weight paper or RNR and buy just the sets of pages you need.

Thats the beauty of what we offer as a company.

The key to any data book is flexability and the ability for you the shooter to have the reference and data collection pages that work for you!!! Not how someone else thinks your book should be setup.

Happy Shooting!!

Glad we can help out that is what we are here for!

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

I started carrying prophylactics, I keep getting grabbed by all those fine range babes. Remember to always mount in a proper and proficient military manner.

Re: What do you carry in your data book?

I have a match log book that is a binder with round count, cold bore data, cleaning data, chrono sheets, load data, performance data specific to locations, copies of match and training targets and notes about them, scope log/scope info, reference articles and correspondence.

In my logbook with a cover over it I have size charts, specific size charts for specific locations, ballistics info/come-ups for the ammo/lot in use, one wind chart, round count pages, cold bore pages (I like the Impact data book cold bore sheets), range cards, sketch pages in grid format, observation logs, specific comm data & format pages, comm logs, and a plastic window for any issued brief. In the pouch is a Mildot Master and calculator only. I have found that pens kept in the book may or may not work after being left exposed to the elements. I have a pencil in there, though.
