Getting ready to buy a Gunslinger 2 and I see a bunch of accessories that look tempting, however I don't want to spend cash on stuff that is just going to take up space and not get used. What accessories for your pack do you recommend and use the most? I am particularly tempted by the padded scope and crown cover and I also am wondering about the small shooting saddle or bag shaped like you to shoot off your pack.

Just the hydration for me. I'm thinking about adding an extra pouch or two though for better organization and accessibility. I tend to just use the pack as a rest works fine without the saddle.mine came with a hood though its not padded, but its well enough protected without it, and your scope should be far from the top of the rifle scabbard..

I bought 2 of the 2 liter pouches. They come in handy for light items, but I noticed when I stuffed a 50 round ammo box in them at a match the buttons that hold the pouch to the webbing were coming un-done from the weight. I do like them to keep smaller items separated from the one big compartment in my gunslinger 2. I now use one for tools and the other has first aid/survival items.

Ditto on the Eberlestock 2 liter pouches - Great for smaller items you don't want to lose in the main compartment. The G2RC rain cover if you'll be out in any and all condtions. I've also used 5.11 tactical 6x6 pouches on my GSII. The 6x6 medical pouch from 5.11 works very well - sometimes mount this inside the main compartment to the molle there. 5.11 single and double pistol mag. pouches work well for spare pistol mags., flashlights, spare leatherman, etc.

Don't waste your money on the Endo frame whatever you do. It's cheap enough to try, but it just doesn't work well. Save your money here.

The pack scabbard and it's cover do a fine job of protecting any weapon put in the scabbard.

As for the saddle for shooting - I've never seen the need. Rifle has a bipod on it, so I use that, or lay rifle across pack.

If you think you really need more, it could be that you should consider a bigger & different model pack.

They have some great add ons for their stocks , I have an Origonal Skycrane model which you can hump a lot of gear in but I have put some of their modular pack 2l pockets on for
water purifier , snake bite kit and medico gear so its always in the same spot and easy to get at , other than that I do love the pack mounted rest and have used it more than I thought i would
thats for sure. Everyone has a slightly different way of approaching their hunting and the grounds they hunt but thats the good thing about a tweakable system like Eberlestock and they get and act on
lots of feedback from our guys in battle who put this stuff to the ultimate test. I have five of their packs now the fist is close to 10 years old and dosnt have a loose stich on it.

I went with the rain cover, two 3 liter side pouches (the 3L pouches will swing unless they are lashed down. I like the two liter also.), padded pouch, and grimlocks. I swap these between a GS2 and G4. I like what others have used for pouches and may try some of their ideas too.

I bought two 2 liter hydration units directly from Source (Eberly uses Source) at a fair price. These have quick connect hoses and mouth pieces. Be aware if you buy from Source your items are shipped from Israel, yes this is correct. They have great customer service but you can not track your package once it leaves Israel because the USPS does not update their tracking information.

I bought the endo frame but don't use it as the pack works fine without it for me.

Rain cover and hydration are the only ones that I use. I have purchased others in the past but never used them... If I need a compression sac or an organizer, I use whatever I have laying around but have not needed to buy any accessories specific for the pack.
