For my part (BJJ), it’s hard (like, just about impossible) not to go lighter with the ladies than the men. When you are bigger, stronger, and more explosive than your training partner, taking it down a notch or 2 allows both of you to get something for the effort. I’ve adopted the mentality of “let them work, don’t let them win.” It’s the same thing I do with students joining from the teen class. New white belts get submitted as fast as possible 3x, then I take it down some so they can work.
But, to answer your question, a gun and a badge and a vest and a taser and a baton and a set of cuffs and a couple of takedowns that don’t work. They’ve got more tools at their disposal than 99% of people they will encounter. Add in that the vast majority of citizens have been conditioned to respect law enforcement, and a LEO- regardless of sex- might as well be wearing a fucking cape.
