So Imageshack jumped the shark and started messing with customers. I have been on the paid plan there for several years and even with that it seemed like ever few weeks I would loose pics. Not sure what happened but more and more just kept getting corrupted and were gone. Then they locked everyone out and tried to hold all the customers hostage. So I stopped payment and deleted what ever files I had still on there (though I could not see a single pic any more). No I need a new host. What are the good free photo host?

Tucker usually has a good take on this kind of stuff.

That business model set sail long ago. New sites used to spend money trying to attract enough numbers to then, in turn, attract a buyer. Now it's mostly paid cloud storage. I'm not sure how useful Imgur is any more. You could always manage on your own with a free program like Adobe Bridge and then simply upload or email as needed.

I use Image BB just for posting purposes. I wouldn’t use any free service for anything you care about saving as I think the business model for these sites is to have a ton of people upload a ton of photos they want to save and then suddenly require a membership. People find it easier to pay for a membership than to move all of their pics.

What are you trying to host images for? Personal use to share with family/friends, cloud backup, business, online image editing, ???

Also, what level privacy do you want for them and just how much storage are you talking about?

If it's strictly for image hosting for the Hide, you can upload them directly to the forum without any hosting necessary.

I always back up all my pics and would never ever think about trusting my pics to a place other than my hard drive in my safe. I just need to be able to post pics to different forums I am on and not really worried about privacy with any pic I would upload.

Its nice when forums like here let you load right to the thread but lots like AR15.com or Advrider do not. So when imageshack was what I used for years to post pic to all my thread from adventure ridding or what ever. Now all of that is gone

Google Photos will do everything you need it to do then, and a healthy free limit as well then, with DropBox as a good alternative if you hate Google like I do (for their anti-2A stance), but not near as much room (3Gb for free last I checked).

Wait, we can direct upload w/o an image host? How? I've been wasting all my time with imgur? Damn
