I know of a guy who got a job in QA at an ammo manufacturer, he spent about 1/3 of his time shooting, 1/3 cleaning guns and 1/3 loading magazines.
After two years on the job he had sold all of his guns and taken up RC model airplanes.

lol. My other bad habit. This is the aircraft equivalent of stuffing a nitro big block into a Chevette.

Redrill and retap some holes while they wait, and charge $20 for it, then they piss and moan "where are the screws ??". You mean the ones I had to drill and tap out because you monkey-fist fuked them up ? Screws are $20 for 4 (we custom make torx t15 head screws from 4140 and heat treat them, then black oxide them, so $5 a screw.. do the math). That's ontop of the original $20.

Then it's like 15 attempted minutes of useless negotiation, which results in me saying "job is $20, screws are an additional $20, no discounts".

If you are polite, stroke my ego a bit, and say please and thanks and call me a nice cunt, then yeah, I'll do it for $30 cash.

I need to get out of this industry.

I actually just went through this, While checking all my fasteners the night before I stripped a screw head and needed it done right then, was driving across the country for a match leaving ASAP when he was done. The smith didn't want to charge me I handed him a 50 and he wouldn't take it, In order to get him to take it I had to drop it on his bench and walk out the door while he said your crazy that's way to much.

Most gunsmiths are chill dudes. We dont mind doing freebie's here and there, its when someone abuses the privlidge.

Its like offering someone a beer from your esky (cooler?) At a bbq, and then they proceed to drink them non stop without asking.
