Recently purchased a Hawke Sidewinder 30 from SWFA . Included in the box was a ring with two small allen screws on either side with what appears to be an indexing/arrow in the middle of it . It of course mounts to the body of the scope, but what is it used for and where does it mount. The instructions make no mention of it at all. Thanks in advance

Re: What is it ?

Are you talking about the enormous side wheel for the side-focus knob? The Hawke Sidewinders I have seen in person all came with a huge, like 3-4" diameter wheel that can be added to the side focus knob if desired (I'd personally leave the damn thing off, but to each their own).

Re: What is it ?

It doesn't look like anything like this comes with the scope...
But, the screw in lens caps are intriguing.
