What is this piece that came with the DTA Conversion Kit??

I just received my 308 SRS Conversion Kit and I found this piece ...

What is this and where does it go?? I tried putting it at the end of the butt stock where the bolt goes into the stock but that prevents me from installing the butt pad.
 
That is the spacer that goes in behind you bolt before you put the putt plate one. It helps to shorten the length of throw on your bolt by essentially turning your long action into a short action. Make sure that groove is pointed up when you install it.
 
And it's for the .308-based bolts not the larger .300WM or .338LM bolts. It's not 100% necessary (I don't use one) but if I recall correctly, it was an added in 2010 when some shooters where having ejection problems because they weren't running the bolt with the right amount of force.
