I bought a Remington SPS Tactical AAC-SD in 308 Rem and will use the rifle for hunting and target shooting up to 500yards.
What magnification range would you recommend? So far, it's between the Sightron SIII 3.5-10x56 and 6-24x50

Re: What magnification??

3.5-10 is all that is needed.
If you really want a higher top end mag, I would look for something with a lower bottom end for hunting. 4-14, 4-16, 3-18 range.

+1

Depending on your style of hunting, and even lower low-end is preferred for fast target acquisition.

I agre comnpletely. Unlike what ome guys believe, you don't need 22 or 24 power to shoot 1000m or more. Yes it can be made easier but if you use lesser quality glass, it can actually work against you. I've shot that distance and more with nothing but 10 and 14 power scopes. I just recently moved up to 17 just because the glass got better.
