What neck sizing bushing to use for 6.5 creedmoor

How thick it the brass that you are reloading? It will depend on that. If you have a loaded round subtract .002 and that will give you a good baseline.

Or you can measure your wall thickness x 2 + 0.264 less your desires neck tension.

For Lapua it’s likely around 0.0135 x 2 + .264 -.002 or 0.289. That’s what I use.

You measure the neck of a case with the bullet seated. Then deduct .002 for the neck tension. The bushing size depends on the brass you are using. As an example, I measured a factory Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor case with the 147 gr. ELD Match bullet seated. The loaded round measured .290 at the neck, and after firing it was .294 inches. If I reload the Hornady, it will get resized with a .290 first and then a .288 or .289 if I want even less neck tension. I would standardize on Lapua brass if it is available, but be aware there are small primer and large primer versions of Lapua. I chose the large primer option.

Don't forget the spring back of 0.001" that usually occurs with the neck sizing. With the MRAD, fired cases measure 0.296" at the neck. I use a 0.289" bushing, giving me 0.290 after spring back. Final round comes out to 0.292"
