What rear bag do you use?

Re: What rear bag do you use?

What ever happened to home grown. Just a old sock filled with your choice of your fill, Plastic beads, sand, corn, rice. Those small plastic beads they use in "beanie " stuffed animals is what I prefer.

Just my 2 cents

Re: What rear bag do you use?

2 thin wool socks
1 good quality freezer type plastic bag
1 dash of long grain rice
1 pinch of salt if desired

1)Put preferred amount of rice in plastic bag
2)Add salt if desired
3)Make knot to seal plastic bag, make sure to remove air before sealing
4)Put plastic bag inside socks
5)Fold socks back twice to make nice round/eggshaped bag without sock material all over the place
6)Shoot
7)Store in dry place when not used

If hungry - cook rice
2)improves taste.

If feet wet and cold - use socks
7)vastly improves experience

BDU leg cut off at the knee and beans. Knot the top, and you have a drawstring to change out the fill as needed. The drawstring also serves as a carry lanyard as well. Simple, cheap, light.

If that's the compact version, I'd hate to carry the standard in the field.

"Better" is pretty subjective, we better stick to different.

Re: What rear bag do you use?

I still use the polly filled socks I made back when... It wasn't so hard... A few guys could buy some fill and one pair of socks wasn't too much for the Army to supply! I can't see paying for something else when I have become so used to something that is almost free!

Oh, I am new to the forum but not the interweb!

Re: What rear bag do you use?

Most all the time I use my own home made bag. A white sock filled with poly pellets then put inside a green sock. Ends sewn and shoe gooed shut. I added a 550 cord handle which goes around the stock and hooks on the stock pack so I can just get up and run and not have to carry it. Not pretty but has worked for years for me even if i had to fix a couple of holes LOL I also have a Red Tac bag I use as well.

Re: What rear bag do you use?

I just ordered a TAB rear bag.

I tried to make one out of a sock like Rob01 did after seeing his a while back. It works great but I guess my socks are just too worn out cause the thing seems to stretch and stretch on me like crazy.

For $20 I picked a TAB bag up from RiflesOnly.com. If you haven't ordered from them it's really easy. Automated emails and USPS tracking numbers instantly. Good stuff.

Oh, it cost me $8 to buy the plastic BBs at Walmart for my half arse clone. I don't see $20 for a solid bag with straps as a bad deal.
