I just noticed the midway 10.00 rebate so I'm gonna order some rings. Lawton 7000 20MOA, Bartlein MTU, and Falcon Menace 5.5-25-56mm scope.

I will be using Burris XTR rings. I still dont have the action here to get a measurement, so I figured maybe someone was running a similiar combo. I know med. will work, but was curious if anyone tried the lows with the 56mm OBJ.

Thanks,

Alan

Re: What rings are guys using for falcon 5.5-25-56,

According to my notes, the 56mm Falcon objective bell is 2.599".

Using my Remington 700 action with a 20 MOA Seekins base (0.292" above top of barrel chamber), I would recommend Burris XTR MEDIUM height (1.090") rings.

The gap between the objective bell of the 56mm Falcon at the chamber area of the barrel would be 0.081". If I plug XTR LOW height rings (0.841") into my equation, I get a 0.169" interference in this same area. I do understand that in reality you will have a slightly larger gap due to the taper of the barrel and the fact that the objective bell sticks out further on the barrel than the chamber area. I don't know if I'd push my luck with LOW height rings however.

Below is a Falcon 5-25x50mm on a set of medium-high Seekins (0.920"). My rifle also has a more aggressive barrel contour than yours. As you can see, the objective bell is well out over the tapered portion of the barrel.
