I just picked up a Vortex Crossfire 4x14 Mildot Tall Turret Luminated, 156$ NIB from Cameraland on E-bay. The only thing I do not like about it is the little bit of play in the turrets. I like the 4 power for plinking critters. Better scopes out there for more money, but a great 22 scope.

The scopes you are being recommended are good choices. Here's another - spend just a little more lunch money and check out the Hawke Sidewinder lineup. Make sure you get the latest glass with the thin subtension mil dot reticles because with the newer scopes the tactical and regular sidewinder (with side paralax) both now have upgraded glass. I have a couple on pea shooters and they are sweet for the money - mostly because the reticles are really useable. SFP but that's expected at the price range. Can't recommend them on high caliber stick our in tough field conditions, but for this app they will hold up.

I was strongly leaning towards a Vortex for my 22 but after reading so many good reviews I ended up with the Mueller APT. I still can't believe how nice it is for the money. They're cheap, but they're much nicer than you'd expect and the features are good (mil dot, useful magnification range, 30mm tube, target turrets, inexpensive sunshade available).
